Take Preventative Action

Carbon Monoxide (CO) poisoning is the leading cause of accidental poisoning in the United States, according to the American Medical Association.

The following is good information to follow even if you don’t live in the state of California. Better to be safe than sorry.

New California Safety Law Requirements (effective July 1, 2011):
• All existing single-family homes that contain a fossil fuel burning heater
or appliance, fireplace or an attached garage must install carbon monoxide alarms.
• CO Alarms must be installed outside of sleeping areas and on every level of a dwelling, including a basement.
• CO alarms must be either battery-powered or plug-in.
